SPELLING BEE PRACTICE

     These videos have been created to help you prepare for success in spelling bees, especially if you may not always have a coach to teach the words to you and help you practice. 

     You can start with Orthoepy.  Orthoepy refers to the correct pronunciation of a word.  Often times a speller will misspell simply because he/she did not know what the word was.  These videos are short so you can listen to them often until you've got it.

     Next, watch the "Flip" videos.  Press Play to listen to the word.  Press Pause to spell the word to yourself.  Press Play again to check the spelling.  Continue on to the end of the video.  Practice these often.  There should be "Flip" videos for the Hoover-Schrum Bee, the "Spell It" list used in the Suburban Bees, and "Off List" words that might be used in future bees.
